Interestingly, the ancient Egyptians used eye liners (Kajal). This was used as a protection against the searing heat of the desert. Hmm.. I don’t think that was the motive here.
In those days they used to use a lamp with castor oil and the soot collected on an inverted vessel was used as “kajal” which was suppose to be soothing to the eyes. These days what we use is all chemical and of course the purpose, too, have changed! 🙂

I wonder how you women feel comfortable with an eyeliner. Doesn’t it hurt or irritate the eyes 😕
In my college days i never used to venture out withour applying an eyeliner. But now i am not so fussy, but still love the effect it produces.
And no, it doesn’t hurt / irritate since it is applied over the eyelids and not In the eyes 🙂 I simply love the effect of liner and Kajal… awesome! 🙂
