Sidi Saiyyed ni Jaali

Sidi Saiyyad ni Jaali
The Sidi Saiyyed mosque, built in 1573, is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmedabad. The mosque was built by Sidi Saiyyed, who was a slave of Sultan Ahmed Shah.

The mosque was built in the last year of the Sultanate of Gujarat. The mosque is entirely arcuated. The mosque has ten screen windows (jalis) on the side and rear arches. The two bays flanking the central aisle have reticulated stone slabs carved in designs of intertwined trees and foliage, a palm and parasite motif. This intricately carved stone window is called the Sidi Saiyyed Jali.

  1. Awesome!!! What camera do you have? What lens did you use for this one? When I click, out of a 50 pictures, only 1 or 2 turn out this sharp. Did you use a tripod?

    • Hey rakesh, you are not alone when you say only a couple of snaps turn out to be this sharp. Join the club. 🙂

I am an amateur photographer and my equipment is not very sophisticated. I use sony DSC-W80 and in most case use auto programme mode. And in this case i haven’g used tripod. But i have processed the pic and decreased the exposure. 🙂
