Colour, colour, which colour?

Fontainhas, Goa

Just west of the Ourem Creek, this old Portuguese district is Panaji’s most interesting area. The warren of narrow cobbled streets, lined with tiled buildings, shuttered windows and tiny overhanging balconies, are a pleasure to wander through.Vibrant colour of houses are one of their types. Local men sip Feni in tiny darkened bars !

    • πŸ™‚ i have not seen so many colour houses anywhere before.. you name it and they have that colour house!! πŸ™‚ Really cool πŸ™‚

    • Depends on how you look at a thing! Skip the truly tourist places… there are certain places in goa where general public (tourists) do not really go… you would love to visit them. I am sure! πŸ™‚

  1. Very interesting pictures! To me they seem Portuguese with an Indian touch.

I was in Goa more than 30 years ago. I was struck by the people looking Indian, South European (like us) and South American, all at the same time. I confess I was more interested in Hindu India, because to me that was the *real* India I was looking for. But Goa was great. I remember this guy in a shop, a local. He told me people in Goa were worried about being flooded by the vast majority of Hindus, Goa being a small place in comparison.

I remember wonderful beaches, among the best I had ever seen. What I really disliked was all those Western weirdoes who, at that time, were visiting the place.
Poonam Sharma told me now the place has changed a lot. And Ashish, the Geek Wrestler, who lived in Goa for years, told me now such beaches are touristic.

Is this your blog or what?

    Ciao!

    • WOW!! thats the longest comment i ever had on my post! πŸ™‚

Well, when i visited Goa this year, i found it cool.. one thing responsible for that was
off-season.. not many foreign tourists around. πŸ™‚ Majority were Indian tourists. And beaches were not very crowded for the same reason. Didn’t see ANY weirdos πŸ˜€

And yeah, this is my blog!! πŸ™‚

Hope you like it! Do visit again πŸ™‚
